The William Pitt Debating Union had an excellent showing at the first travel tournament of the season. On Sept. 30, three debaters (Hunter Foster, Sebastiano Rabbini, and Liam Nyberg) travelled to San Francisco for the Golden Gate Opener tournament. All three debaters competed in the open division of NFA-LD, the highest level of one-on-one evidence debate. At the tournament, Hunter was rated as the 5th best speaker and won silver, Sebastiano was rated as the 4th best speaker and won silver, and Liam was rated as the top speaker and won gold. In other words, Pitt debaters won fourth, third, and first places at the tournament in NFA-LD.
